I'm curious how you guys find out and talk to news organizations. We're a local news startup that, when fully launched, will cover all 3,143 counties across all 50 states and produce about 1,833 state, regional, local, and hyperlocal stories per day; that's 670,870 verified video and digital stories per year. That's a lot of IP with direct relevance to every person in every town in the country. That's urban, suburban, and rural. Here's the website. Please have someone reach out or let me know who to contact.

The shift from viewing journalism as "legacy" to recognizing it as essential infrastructure for AI is overdue. I've been exploring similar dynamics over at Beyond the Seat around how enterprise buyers evaluate AI's information provenance. The real test: whether these partnerships survive when local news becomes training data that reduces referral traffic.

That graph showing local news prompts is lacking a label for the vertical axis. Best to do these things manually.

Good point, Graham. Has it moved from 20% to 80%, or 1% to 4% or... ??

Who knows, other than this post admits it was generated by ChatGPT. Hilarious really.
